Greater Mac Compatibility

Though the previous BibleWorks Mac Installer covered almost everything our typical user needed, that wasn’t enough for us. We continue to push beyond 98% and have substantially improved the Mac Installer compatibility and functionality. More importantly, the program now ships with the Mac Installer–no separate purchase is required!

Screen scaling

Adjust screen font size for a variety of displays

The top level windows and text in BibleWorks can now be scaled larger, making reading on high resolution/retina displays, projectors, and tablet PCs a little easier.

Morphology Coloring

Add colors to text based on morphology

Apply colors automatically to words based on morphological coding. The color tagging specifications can be saved for later use or for sharing with other users.

Leningradensis Images

High-res images of the entire Hebrew OT

BibleWorks contains a massive set of high resolution images of the Leningradensis Codex, the manuscript behind the BHS and WTT Hebrew texts. As you move the mouse over Bible text, the LC images for the verse display on a dedicated tab. Markers show the start of each Bible verse reference.

A new introductory Hebrew grammar

This is a comprehensive introductory Hebrew grammar by Jan Verbruggen. Classroom tested and refined, it contains a wealth of lessons, history, and exercises (with key).

 
   

EPUB Reader

Build and organize a library of EPUB ebooks

With the new EPUB window you can read EPUB files and manage libraries of EPUB files. There are two instances of the EPUB tab so you can have a reader open in each Analysis Column. Collect commentaries, references, theology, and any other category of ebook, organizing them in your EPUB library as you see fit.

 
 

User Lexicon

Instantly reference your personal notes on words

In the new User Lexicon Tab, you can keep notes on any word in English versions and in morphologically tagged Greek and Hebrew versions. When you move your mouse over words in the Bible text, your notes instantly appear and can be quickly edited.

BibleWorks Manuscript Project

Two new manuscript transcriptions have been added: Ephraemi Rescriptus (M-04) and Claromontanus (M-06). Neither has morphology yet. Both are based on Tischendorf transcriptions. Neither has image sets, but M-04 does have images of the Tischendorf transcription. Vaticanus and Sinaiticus now have completed morphology

Stuttgart Original Languages Package – New Testament Edition

Texts and apparatuses

The texts are fully integrated into BibleWorks, showing apparatus entry as the mouse moves over the text. Guides to abbreviations and symbols are included. The NA28 apparatus also includes cross references, Eusebian section/canon numbers, etc.This module contains the following:

  • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament 28th Edition including apparatus and morphology.
  • Newman, Jr., Barclay M. A Concise Greek-English Dictionary of the New Testament
  • Bruce Metzger, A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament
  • Biblia Sacra Iuxta Vulgatam Versionem (Latin Vulgate 2013) with apparatus
  • Kassühlke Greek-German Dictionary (to be released as forthcoming update)
  • Gospel of Thomas (to be released as forthcoming update)
  • United Bible Societies Greek New Testament (5th edition) with apparatus. (to be released as forthcoming update)
